Alaska Vocational Technical Center scores 843 — these providers rank higher on Verdica's composite trust score.
The Verdica score is a composite trust score from 300 to 850, computed from accreditation status, Title IV outcomes, and IPEDS data maintained by accreditors and the Department of Education. A score of 843 places Alaska Vocational Technical Center in AK in the excellent (800–850) band. The score reflects publicly available regulator data — it is not a rating from Verdica itself and does not incorporate paid reviews or advertising.
Verdica combines three weighted sub-scores drawn from accreditors and the Department of Education. Each sub-score reflects a different dimension of education compliance — accreditation standing, graduation and default rates, and financial responsibility — and is normalized against industry peers before being aggregated to the 300–850 scale.
Verdica pulls public records from accreditors and the Department of Education: accreditation status, Title IV outcomes, and IPEDS data. Data is refreshed on rolling cycles, typically weekly to monthly depending on the source agency's own update schedule. See the "source data current" indicator on the entity page for the last successful refresh.

I graduated early from high school and took the ferry from Kodiak to take the 6 Pak captain's license. In 1982 the requirements were much different. They totally failed to tell me what I would need before taking the actual test. Had I been told I would have brought the documented sea time from 5 different captain's. Nor did I have the means and time to go to the Anchorage USCG office to get a Zcard. So I got a refund and bused to Anchorage until the next crab season. But I remember the staff was very nice and they had housing. I remember I had already gotten my refund and returned quite drunk unable to find my key. I found it the next morning in my pocket. Ended up getting a FAA airframe license instead. Got the 6 Pak license in 95. And later tutored others for the next several years.

Yes. Entities can file a dispute directly from the score page, and business owners can claim their profile. Verdica reviews disputes against the underlying regulator record; the score is updated when the source data is corrected. Scores are recomputed automatically as new regulator data arrives.
Did the Refrigeration course. I found a permanent position and good money right here in Alaska, the most beautiful place on earth so far. Trust the process. The admin office is very good. Call, talk to them, tell em about your life. Classes are small and the staff seem to genuinely give a damn. Cafeteria is A+ for what it is. I guess it helps that there is a culinary academy attached . Dorm is Clean, Warm, Safe, Quite and Comfortable.
