Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary scores 780 — these providers rank higher on Verdica's composite trust score.
The Verdica score is a composite trust score from 300 to 850, computed from accreditation status, Title IV outcomes, and IPEDS data maintained by accreditors and the Department of Education. A score of 780 places Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in IL in the strong (740–799) band. The score reflects publicly available regulator data — it is not a rating from Verdica itself and does not incorporate paid reviews or advertising.
Verdica combines three weighted sub-scores drawn from accreditors and the Department of Education. Each sub-score reflects a different dimension of education compliance — accreditation standing, graduation and default rates, and financial responsibility — and is normalized against industry peers before being aggregated to the 300–850 scale.
Verdica pulls public records from accreditors and the Department of Education: accreditation status, Title IV outcomes, and IPEDS data. Data is refreshed on rolling cycles, typically weekly to monthly depending on the source agency's own update schedule. See the "source data current" indicator on the entity page for the last successful refresh.

praying for a new beginning. dont know about others but sofar i experience patience and availability during the application process.. grateful
I love Garrett! I'm a student here and the education is top-notch. Welcoming, lovely place.
I just began here and moved here to study. I have to agree with a couple of other patrons here and say that this place is a very dark place. There is a strong lack of Holiness and Spirit within this place. The officers and staff here are very rude and unpleasant. There seems to be a heaviness amongst the campus and the students and the staff. Though I walk with the grace of God, I have to be honest and say that I find a slight discomfort with how many atheist and non-believers I have come across who study here at this seminary. I pray for more welcome graces into the new school year, but I'm not sure the light will shine much amongst these forsaken walls.
I'm astounded at how unwelcome I felt here after a visit while my daughter toured neighboring Northwestern University. I was baptized in the United Methodist Church and have been affiliated my entire life. I entered the building and was suggested by the student sitting at the desk, and asked for directions to the chapel. I hope to pursue a divinity degree in my 50s, and sat quietly in the chapel learning about Garrett online. My interest generated a couple of questions about the history of the seminary, and I hoped to find writings described online about the academic shaping their theology. I stopped by academic affairs (an open office near the chapel) asking how to find these resources. The person behind the desk had the most unwelcoming disposition of any person in a religious organization that I have ever visited in this country or abroad, of any religion. Now, It's the next day, and I am still just astounded, still in disbelief. It's not that this person was particularly aggressive or angry, and I have no desire to castigate her, but this seminary seems to be in a very dark place right now. Boy, all I can do is wish them well. There was no Evangelical spirt here.
I have a PhD from this institution (2020), and attending GETS was the worst decision of my life. Please contact me if you wish to hear of my experience, but I’m considering legal action against them for knowingly exploiting large numbers of doctoral students, knowing full well that very few, if any, would attain teaching jobs upon graduation. I’ve submitted multiple letters of complaint to multiple levels of administration and never been answered at all. They also discriminate on the basis of race, gender, and sexual orientation in the most egregious of ways. Please, for the love of G-d and all that is Holy, stay away and go elsewhere.
