Hilltop Beauty School scores 782 — these providers rank higher on Verdica's composite trust score.
The Verdica score is a composite trust score from 300 to 850, computed from accreditation status, Title IV outcomes, and IPEDS data maintained by accreditors and the Department of Education. A score of 782 places Hilltop Beauty School in CA in the strong (740–799) band. The score reflects publicly available regulator data — it is not a rating from Verdica itself and does not incorporate paid reviews or advertising.
Verdica combines three weighted sub-scores drawn from accreditors and the Department of Education. Each sub-score reflects a different dimension of education compliance — accreditation standing, graduation and default rates, and financial responsibility — and is normalized against industry peers before being aggregated to the 300–850 scale.
Verdica pulls public records from accreditors and the Department of Education: accreditation status, Title IV outcomes, and IPEDS data. Data is refreshed on rolling cycles, typically weekly to monthly depending on the source agency's own update schedule. See the "source data current" indicator on the entity page for the last successful refresh.

I went to school here. The school has helped me so much! I feel ready to start my career! Between the teachers who taught me everything I need to know for the foundation of this business & the office, They have helped me every step of the way and explained everything as we did the paperwork/enrollment process. The school is great for the price of education. They do not do loans they work with Grants that I don’t pay back. Now all I have to focus on is my career I don’t have to also worry about debt. The school is the best!
Attending Hilltop Beauty School has honestly been such a positive experience for me. As a mom balancing school, work, and raising a baby, having support around me means everything, and the staff and instructors here have truly made me feel encouraged throughout my journey. The instructors are patient, supportive, and genuinely want their students to succeed both in school and in the beauty industry. They take the time to help us grow, answer questions, and build confidence in our skills. I never feel judged asking for help, and that's something I really appreciate. What I love most is that Hilltop Beauty School feels like a family. I feel included, supported, and motivated every time I come in. Being a student while also being a mother can be overwhelming at times, but this school has made me feel seen and capable of reaching my goals. I'm grateful to be part of a school that truly cares about its students and creates a welcoming environment where we can learn, grow, and prepare for our future careers.
My daughter went to school here and she had so much fun she did not want school to end. I highly recommend this school! My daughter passed her state board on the first try. The teachers and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The enrollment was very easy they helped me with the whole process, including financial aid. Best thing is they do not do loans so you do not need to pay back anything. Hilltop is the best!
I just got my haircut here for a great price!!! The cut came out really good! I also spoke to a lady in the office named Alyssa with blue hair to see about my girlfriend coming to cosmetology school. She was super friendly and willing to help us the whole way! This place is great! I will definitely be going back!
Do not go here. The “makeup artist” they had do my makeup obviously had very rarely done it before. She kept asking questions about products and when to apply them and how to other workers in Spanish (most of them only spoke spanish). I left with the worst makeup I’ve ever had done. She turned my blonde, thin eyebrows into massive orange blocks and when I asked for thin eyeliner, she gave me extremely uneven and very thick black eyeliner over a bright gold eyeshadow despite me asking for a light brown. She neglected to use contour, bronzer, mascara, powder, or setting spray: despite me asking and her explicitly confirming she’d be able to do a bronzed makeup look. I showed her a neutral pink lip, she applied hot pink glitter gloss instead. When I confronted the manager about this, he said it was my fault for choosing to have my makeup done at a beauty school and wouldn’t offer any discount on the “service.” I had to redo ALL of the makeup that I paid $50 for an hour before my grad pictures due to this. I was genuinely embarrassed to be seen in the makeup, worst experience ever. Do not go here!!!
Not the same since they changed all the instructors The students are not polite. Customer know these are students. But they charge clients just as much as regular hairdressers. The students will not learn if they try to make profits on prices they charge for services. I always tip 10 to the student, this is to enhance their experience. Stop going because of the upcharge.
Do they still do hair services?
