American National Group Inc scores 769 — these providers rank higher on Verdica's composite trust score.
The Verdica score is a composite trust score from 300 to 850, computed from complaint index ratios, financial ratings, and regulatory actions maintained by state insurance departments and the NAIC. A score of 769 places American National Group Inc in TX in the strong (740–799) band. The score reflects publicly available regulator data — it is not a rating from Verdica itself and does not incorporate paid reviews or advertising.
Verdica combines three weighted sub-scores drawn from state insurance departments and the NAIC. Each sub-score reflects a different dimension of insurance compliance — complaint index vs. peers, financial strength, and regulatory standing — and is normalized against industry peers before being aggregated to the 300–850 scale.
Verdica pulls public records from state insurance departments and the NAIC: complaint index ratios, financial ratings, and regulatory actions. Data is refreshed on rolling cycles, typically weekly to monthly depending on the source agency's own update schedule. See the "source data current" indicator on the entity page for the last successful refresh.

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience. I submitted a work order for my AC unit that was under warranty. I’ve been paying this company for 12 years thinking that I would be covered in this situation - not the case. Not only did I not get a response for ONE WEEK, but they are also not covering the full expense of the replacement compressor. I live in Texas and it’s August. Absolutely unacceptable living conditions. I’m 80 years old and am too old to be dealing with this. Will not be staying with this company!!

This company is a mess!!! We have loved ones that have passed away. We get bombarded with mail from them, about paperwork we have already completed with the funeral home. They want us to contact them, that’s a BIG Joke!!! The first initial call I made when my auntie passed away, I waited 2hrs and 17min to get a representative on the line. That was to get the plans started for my auntie funeral, so I could know about her policies. Now my mom is receiving more mail everyday about paperwork that has been completed weeks ago. Stating they will give over any money leftover to the state, if information is not received. The same information they asked for at the beginning and the same information and paperwork that was completed at the funeral home. Now we have been on hold for. One hour 14min and counting. This is horrible and unacceptable to treat people this way, during such a heartbreaking difficult time!!!!! Do better American National
Pick an insurance company that knows what the heck they’re doing. From the actual agents to customer service people, they don’t know their own policies or rules. They give you the runaround. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
With almost Seven Figures Invested at 5.40% there Annuity's are the Best and Safest. My Agent is great but suggest to use there Online Portal. Thanks American National.
Absolutely poor service. When you call in be prepared to wait over an hour on hold. I will never recommend this company to anyone.
This company used to be amazing, but over the last 1–2 years their customer service has completely changed. They once had real people who genuinely cared, answered questions clearly, and could help you in person. Now, customer service is handled only over the phone, with no local support available, and the experience has become extremely frustrating. I now spend 4–5 hours every month trying to fix or correct issues with them. After being a loyal customer for 26 years, the level of service I’ve experienced over the past 12 months is honestly pushing me to consider taking my business elsewhere.
I wish I could give Zero stars as the way my 94 year old Father has been treated is unacceptable! He had 2 life insurance policies in place (one from 1963 and other 1987)....neither of any significant value. Upon my Mom passing in February, he decided to cancel in order to pay funeral and medical expenses. After not receiving a response by mid-March, we contacted customer service and were told it was being processed. End of March still had not received and called again whereas were told same story. Finally reached out to agent Ramon Contreras with regards to policy from 1963 and he was unable to provide any updates. Requested his Manager's contact info and were given Ashley Young. She replied mid-April stating form needed a Witness Signature (non-relative), yet the one we sent per website did not state this, only Agent Signature. Completed another form and had notarized yet still have not received payment. Funny thing is policy from 1987 he canceled was paid based off of form Ashley Young stated was not correct. It's been a major hassle and my Dad has been given nothing but the "run around". I do not recommend this insurance company as when you decide to cancel policy (63 years later in my Dad's case), the only thing you get is excuses.
The worst my mom been with this company since 1987 she passed in November 2025 and they’re still giving us the run around for payout this is very disturbing disgusting disheartening
